Crab Bisque Makes the Soul Smile at Fire Island.
The Feast: Crab Bisque x Truffle Creamed Corn

After a nice sunbathing experience on the beach and seeing about four deer it was time to eat. It was probably time to eat before that but I wanted the best. I almost canceled Fire Island off my list of places to enjoy seafood. Prior to a great dining experience at Island Mermaid, I had a cheeseburger that tasted like paper and cheese. I was very disappointed.
But the sun set and the other end of the beach called our name. The Island Mermaid was at the perfect spot. Right next to boats (my new vice) by the water was the ultimate setting for good food, fun and relaxation. I instantly wanted to try the lobster bisque, I felt a little soupy. It was delicious. Chunks of crab with great seasoning it needed nothing. But the bonus was a side of Truffle Creamed Corn. The corn tasted like it was made just for me. The richness with a dash of pepper made for a great side dish. I recommend Island Mermaid if you’re on a staycation and just want to enjoy the scene and of course great food.
