Lobster Ice Cream. No Really. Only in Maine
This past Fourth of July weekend I had the pleasure of visiting Booth Bay, Maine and finding myself sailing the ocean and of course eating lobster! This was totally a big deal because it was the first/second time I’ve ever had lobster (Cruise ship to Mexico). But instead of just having a whole lobster I had it in the most unfamiliar form ever; Ice Cream.
Yes, Lobster Ice Cream. Let that set in your mind for a minute. Not only was it a dessert but it was added in milk to make a wild ride of taste bud stories. As soon as I saw the title I had to make it happen. In all, it was a smooth texture combined with sweetness but just enough saltiness. I had it on a cone on what seemed like the hottest day ever in Maine. Mind you I had a lobster for brunch followed by the ice cream then Lobster Papardelle but, we’ll get to that sooner than later. I was LOBSTER’ed out! Towards the end of eating the lobster ice cream I indeed tasted the lobster and once I burped you could definitely smell the aroma:) It was tasty but no more than a scoop.
