Ben & Jerry’s Launches New Anchorman-Themed Ice Cream Flavor
In honor of Paramount Pictures’ upcoming film, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, Ben & Jerry’s has released limited amounts of their latest creamy concoction otherwise known as “Scotchy Scotch Scotch“. Inspired by the fictional news reporter Ron Burgundy and his favorite drink of choice, the new batch of ice cream is devoid of any alcohol, but boasts butterscotch-flavored ice cream with ribbons of butterscotch swirl in each pint.
The frozen dessert was officially unveiled at New York City’s Pier 36, on 10/22, where members of the press attended and witnessed the announcement first-hand, with a performance by Nutty The Waterskiing Squirrel, as seen in the first Anchorman film. Nutty’s prowess was immediately followed by the appearance of a Ben & Jerry’s scoop-truck-turned-Channel 4 News-truck, which rolled onto the scene transporting a legion of blazer-wearing Ron Burgundy look-alikes and fans, who were treated to complimentary scoops of the new Ron Burgundy-inspired flavor at the event.
While Burgundy fans will have to wait until December 20 to see his new movie, Scotchy Scotch Scotch is available now at participating scoop shops across the country, and pints of the flavor are expected to arrive on store shelves nationwide over the next few weeks.
