Spooky Sliders – By Fabulous Faith

What’s for dinner? And costumes and face painting. Then roaming up and down the neighborhood all evening and finally trying to get your sugar filled pumpkin off to bed. Yes, it’s that time of the year again! Happy Halloween Everyone!

To assist you in maintaining that super-mom appearance I have created the following revolutionary burger and fry combo that can be easily prepared in minutes and decorated to wow even the pickiest eaters! Now introducing: The Spooky Slider

Burger and Fries in One Bite? Yes it’s real!

Ingredients:

1 package Sol Cuisine black bean and corn sliders

OR

½ pound lean ground beef (preferably grass-fed organic)

1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1 teaspoon kosher salt

A few slices of cheddar cheese

 

1 Package McCain Smiley Fries

 

Decorations:

2 tablespoons prepared mustard mixed with two drops of red food coloring

2 tablespoons tomato ketchup mixed with one drop red food coloring

½ avocado mashed with 1 tablespoon of lime juice and two drops green food coloring

Sugarless skulls and pumpkins

 

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees and bake Smiley Fries in a single layer on a non-stick cooking sheet for 15 minutes or until golden brown
  1. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium high heat
  1. Combine beef and seasoning in bowl and shape into golf ball sized patties and press flat
  1. Fry patties for 5 minutes on both sides, top with cheese and set aside
  1. Remove Smiley Fries from the oven and decorate top half as pictured below
  1. Place burger patties onto Smiley Fries and top with decorated half
  1. Serve immediately

Recipe yields 12 Spooky Sliders

**For vegan omit step 3 and cheese from step 4
