Gravy

Gravy

Gravy is one of the very first breakfast spots I went to when I first moved to Portland. Why it’s taken me so long to do a review is beyond me.

They are hands down the top place to go get breakfast/brunch/hangover cure/gravy fix or really any reason you want to stuff your face.

Now, not every dish has gravy, but the ones that do make you wish the mountains of gravy would never end. It really is amazing. A plus is that breakfast is served all day, seven days a week. There is most definitely a line out the door on the weekends, but if you can squeeze in a gravy date during the week then there is almost zero wait time.

The following photos are obviously only a sample of the deliciousness that Gravy has to offer, but whatever you order you will not go home hungry.

gravyThe picture above is their two fluffy biscuits with the hearty veggie gravy. My friend ordered this and could only finish one. The picture doesn’t give it justice how massive these things were. The veggie gravy was also a nice change from the typical sausage or mushroom gravy.

monteThis little plate of Heaven is their Monte Crisco. It’s hard to believe there are two slices of French toast under that mountain. It’s also topped with ham, turkey, Swiss cheese, and eggs. Oh, and if that’s not enough food for you it also comes with a side, and I chose hash browns obviously (the only way to go).

Yep, it was definitely hard to breathe after this and I even took half home.

dalisThis massive dish is their Dalise Scramble. Yes, there are eggs under that gravy. And not just eggs, but also bacon, sausage, ham, sweet peppers, mushrooms, onions, and cheddar. Then all covered with the sausage gravy. Hash browns as the side. Prettyyyy much a heart attack, but I would die very happy.

To sum it all up – if you are visiting Portland or even live in Portland then you MUST visit Gravy. Be sure to wear sweats or yoga pants. If not, then be prepared to unbutton those jeans and get ready for the food coma.

Gravy is located at 3957 N Mississippi Ave Portland, OR.

Enjoy!
