Ah….Valentine’s Day: that one time of year where a bunch of lames, with zero creativity decide to showcase their and undying love and affection for another person. It’s all just a poor excuse for a holiday if you ask me. But hey, if that’s you’r thing, then who am to step in the way of cupid’s arrow? Rock on, love birds. This post is not for you.#sorrynotsorry

Those of you who don’t have a bae this year though will certainly appreciate this. The folks at The Meatball Shop in NYC have crafted the perfect anti-valentine libation for singles — or anyone who lives by the mantra “love is for suckers”, courtesy of Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum. So ditch the sappy music, cheesy rom-coms, and meaningless flowers and candy, put on some decent attire, and head over to any one of The Meatball Shop’s six locations (Brooklyn, Chelsea, LES, Upper East Side, Upper West Side and West Village) to indulge in some good eats to soak up all those Rusty Ball and Chains you’ll be swigging.

Rusty Ball & Chain

1 1/4 parts Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum

3/4 parts Drambuie

2 parts Orange Juice

Preparation: mix all ingredients together and serve over ice. (Cheesy hearts optional)
