Welcome to #ThirstyThursday, where our resident spirited soldier Ru Porter highlights some of the doper libations to hit the beverage industry. With our thirst for knowledge, our love of food and cocktails, you can count on YouGottaEatThis.com to school you on what to eat and drink at select hang out spots. Up for the for first edition is Cruzan Black Strap Rum.
While America’s getting ready to celebrate Memorial Day weekend, thousands of people across New York are gearing up for a national tradition, the city’s 27th annual Fleet Week. Whether you happen to be a local or not, you can still celebrate like a sailor this weekend with Cruzan Black Strap navy style rum.
For hundreds of years, sailors enjoyed a daily ration of rum known as a “tot” as part of their routine, a tradition that continued all the way into the late 20th century before being eliminated. Still, this was not before making rum legendary on both land and sea through their travels across the world.
Cruzan’s throwback to the classic navy rums made popular in the 16th and 17th centuries features a dark color with a full-bodied, rich taste and a complex flavor that adds depth to any cocktail.
