Lomito a Caballo from Argentina Cafe
I was born in Argentina and truly love the food from my country. Most Argentinian joints in Houston can be a bit pricey. When I saw the menu and the prices for the Argentina Cafe, I was a bit shocked at how affordable it was. My husband and I both ordered Lomito a Caballo (above) which is basically Filet Mignon with two fried eggs on top and fries (substitute the fries for the house salad or an Argentinian salad). Saying the meat was juicy is an understatement. It was truly one of the best pieces of meat I’ve had in my life and the fried eggs made it even tastier. Best part was neither of us finished the meat and ended up taking it home for homemade nachos that same night.
Of course we couldn’t just leave without dessert – Tiramisu has been one of my favorite desserts since I was little. We didn’t eat it often so when we did, it was kind of a fancy treat for us. The Argentina Cafe has tiramisu in a cup -facepalm- Why didn’t I think of that?!
If you’re into trying new international food – The Argentina Cafe is definitely a great place to start. The prices are good, the service is amazing and one of the coolest things they have is a picture book of their food. Who doesn’t like food porn? I’d call you a liar if you said you didn’t cause you’re here Lol!
