Jimi Hendrix Gets His Own Spirits Brand
The guitar hero’s name lives on with Purple Haze Liqueur.
You can buy quite a few things for around $25, but I can’t think of anything cooler than a bottle of Jimi Hendrix’s new flavored spirit to sip on while channeling your inner Voodoo Child. Inspired by Jimi’s brother Leon and Tiger Paw Beverages, the cognac and vodka blend offers a mildly sweet flavor with a hint of mixed berries.
While Purple Haze is meant to be enjoyed (in moderation) on the rocks, imbibers looking for an easy mixer can add a few drops to a glass of lemon-lime soda for a little “dirty sprite” (no Future). And if that’s not your speed, you can always top it off with a little dry bubbly. It may not turn you into a rock star overnight, but it’ll certainly have you feeling like one when the ball drops on New Year’s eve if you’re partying at a trendy club in Los Angeles or Atlanta, as that’s most likely where be able to purchase Purple Haze until further notice.
The brand is still new (it just launched in November 2015) but Tiger Paw and Leon are expecting more flavors including a Tequila Expression in the near future.
