808 Grinds

808 Grinds

I just picked up 808 Grinds for lunch about an hour ago, and it’s SO AMAZING I had to write a review right away.

I have heard so many good things about 808 that I put down my salad today and ventured out of the office to try it.

SO GLAD I DID.

808 Grinds is a food cart that offers authentic Hawaiian food, but they are only open until 3:00 pm so you have to face the lunch rush crowd.

I ordered the Tri Fecta plate which comes with all three meats:

The Shoyu Chicken is slow-cooked for hours in a garlic-ginger-soy marinade.

The Kalua Pig is a traditional Hawaiian pulled pork that is delicious.

The 808 Fried Chicken is marinated in a soy-based batter and perfectly fried.

I also can’t forget about the mac salad that is pretty much perfection as well.

The best part is this huge plate is only $10!

Soo pretty much -> GO GET SOME RIGHT NOW, YOU’LL THANK ME.

I also ordered their Spam Musubi. It’s a seared marinated piece of spam over rice, and wrapped in nori. This was actually tasty, but not something I would order every time.

If you love Hawaiian food then 808 Grinds is a must stop if you are in Portland, OR.

Be sure to check out their Facebook page as well for news on the locations of their mobile food truck.
