Radar
Portland has endless restaurants to try. I don’t think I’ll ever get bored with the food scene. A new restaurant I tried last week was Radar. The menu is designed to be tapas style, but you can very well eat a plate by yourself and be stuffed. A friend and I ordered several items and they were just too good to not share with the world:
This drink was so refreshing. It’s called the “A. Day” cocktail. Made with gin, salers gentian aperitif, lemon juice, acacia honey and seltzer. I only had one since it hit me hard with having no food in my belly, but I will definitely be back to try the rest of their cocktails.
This was the arugula salad. Made with cotija, pepitas, pickled onion and guajillo vinaigrette – I was scraping the plate. So good.
This dish was amazing. The country ham croquettes with red eye aioli. The middle was all gooey and melted in your mouth. Definitely wished I had ordered more of these.
Next was the pork shoulder with cotija grits and chile puree. I’m drooling just thinking about this dish again. The grits are just heavenly and the pork is phenomenal.
Last, but not least, was the griddled trout with watercress and romesco. I’m a huge seafood fan and this did not fail to please me. It was cooked perfectly.
