W Downtown Introduces The Nightcap (Cocktail Garnished with a Room Key)
I’m all about presentation when it comes to food and drinks, so you can imagine how thrilled I was to learn that W New York – Downtown’s Living Room Bar & Terrace is letting the creative juices flow with their latest mixed drink. Known as The Nightcap, this brandy-based libation is the only drink in Manhattan garnished with a (working) room key.
Inspired by W Downtown’s in-house Mixologist, Eben Klemm, The Nightcap was created with those want a happy ending after a long night at the bar. It is made with XO Cognac, Orange Peel Infused Maple Syrup, Dashes of Orange Bitters and is topped with a room key that unlocks the Wonderful Room at the hotel. The suite features expansive views of the New York cityscape, LED lights, luxurious linens made from Egyptian cotton, an entertainment system and more.
The drink price starts at $299 but is based on room availability. It should be ordered at least one hour prior to when you wish to retire for the night.
