#ThirstyThursday: Bloody Mary’s & Bacon Cheeseburgers in Philly
The summer’s almost over, which means that you’ve got a few more weeks to throw a killer backyard bbq before the weather changes. So fire up the grill and start preparing your menus. While the food should always remain simple, the cocktails should be taken up a notch to keep guests in good spirits. We all know burgers and cold brews always pair well, but did you know bloody mary’s made with blended scotch whisky is also a great option?
To convince vodka lovers to step out of their comfort zone, The Black Grouse partnered with Philly bartender Tim Heuisler to change up the classic Bloody with vodka and instead use blended scotch: “The smokiness of The Black Grouse pairs great with the spiciness of a solid bloody mix.” Garnish with a pickle and pair that with a bacon cheeseburger, you’ve got yourself a simple at-home crowd-pleaser for brunch or your next BBQ!
The recipe is included below, but just in case mixology isn’t your strongest suit, you can head over to Time Restaurant in Philadelphia to order a round for your friends at The Whiskey Bar. Cheers!
