So feel free to join in as we tip our hats to Captain Morgan and his flavored white rum variants that will be making a huge tidal wave at the 2015 Firefly Music Festival on June 18-21, in Dover Delaware.

Outdoor festivals are more than just music. They are multiple opportunities to socialize, relax, meet new friends, eat and of course, drink (if you’re 21 and over). Since Captain Morgan is big on entertainment and night life, the Caribbean-based spirit brand decided to sponsor the four-day Firefly Music Festival to introduce white rum imbibers to a fresh take on a handful of island-inspired classic cocktails to enjoy. As a result of their successful white rum launch in 2014, the Diageo label extended the Captain’s fleet using five times distilled sparkling Caribbean water infused with cane molasses.
The outcome yielded three signature cocktails: The Piña Thunder (inspired by the Piña Colada using Captain Morgan Pineapple), The Shark Puncher made with Captain Morgan Coconut Rum for modern tropical punch) and From Dusk Til Daiquiri — a twist on The Hemingway Daiquiri using Captain’s Grapefruit expression.

- 1.5 oz. Captain Morgan Pineapple Rum .5 oz. lime juice 1 oz. coconut cream .5 oz. coconut water .5 oz. pineapple juice Directions: combine all ingredients in a blender with ice.

- 9 oz Captain Morgan Coconut Rum 9 oz Orange Juice 3 oz Ruby Red Grapefruit Juice 6 oz Cranberry Juice Directions: Combine all ingredients including Captain Morgan® Coconut Rum in a pitcher and stir.

- 1.5 oz. Captain Morgan Grapefruit Rum .75 oz. Fresh lime juice .75 oz. Simple syrup 1 Scoop of ice Directions: Combine all ingredients including CAPTAIN MORGAN® Grapefruit Rum and add ice.
Food pairings: Fried coconut shrimp, Wood-fire grilled Salmon topped with mango salsa and wild rice.
