Terrapin is a widely respected brewery based in Athens, GA. I guess you should sort of expect a Georgia brewery to have a peach beer or two on their roster, huh? Well, obviousness aside, Maggie’s Peach Farmhouse Ale does the best job of these three beers in bottling what you expect to taste after reading the beer name.
While the chosen Saison style isn’t an over the top popular style, it is a great platform to allow a specific fruit to shine without having that style’s trademark tastes, scents or mouthfeels take over. Maggie’s throws a bit of a curveball by adding just a bit of “grassy” hay flavor in the background. This is an awesome example of breaking from the norm but not going off the deep end and over complicating. That almost always leads to said beer ending up going down my drain.

Say youngblood… Terrapin got this peach shxt see… That shxt’ll getchu hiiiigh man! This is probably the best of the peach beers I’ve tasted. The marriage of a great style that I love in general with a fruit that fits the style extremely well is more of a “don’t fvck this up” situation. Terrapin didn’t fvck this one up and we thank them for it, honest.
