Johnnie Walker & Entourage Filmmakers Create “Johnny For Johnnie” Campaign

Johnnie Walker Scotch whisky has partnered with the makers of  HBO’s “Entourage” series to create and promote an original three-minute ad featuring Kevin Dillon’s Johnny “Drama” Chase character.

 

The visual, hosted on Johnnie Walker’s YouTube page and promoted on its social media channels, is dubbed “Johnny for Johnnie.” The campaign was written and produced by “Entourage” creator Doug Ellin, and directed by Kevin Connolly, the co-star of the show and film.

The premise: Johnny Drama dreams that he’s been made the new face of Johnnie Walker, and appears on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” to promote the endorsement. He tells Kimmel that if things go as planned, the brand may actually add a new label beyond its Johnnie Red, Black and Blue versions, called Johnny Drama.

The promo clip is an extension of Johnnie Walker’s long-running “Keep Walking” (#KeepWalking) campaign, which aims to inspire “personal progress” and celebrate big and small achievements along the way for young scotch-lovers under 40.

Bottles of the limited-edition Johnny Drama Label will be available for a suggested retail price of $65.15 USD to honor the movie’s June 5, 2015 release date. Fans can follow on Facebook and Twitter for more information on the partnership and what’s to come.
