Thanksgiving Cocktails That Taste Like Classic Desserts

 

As everyone heads into the holidays, many people are probably looking for a last minute item to bring to dinners and parties. Since it’s bad form to show up empty handed, why not bring everyone can enjoy: a round of drinks!

Holiday entertaining can be daunting, but with the right cocktails a houseful of guests doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Here are five cocktails that taste like your favorite holiday treats — from Apple Pie, Pecan and more — courtesy of Piehole Whiskey and Wild Turkey Bourbon….

 

Pecan Sour w BottlePecan Sour

1.5 oz. Piehole Pecan Pie

1.25 oz. Sour Mix

1 dash of Angostura Bitters

1 splash of Orange Juice

Lemon wedges

Combine all ingredients in a shaker and pour over ice in a rocks glass.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Cider w BottleApple Cider

1 oz. Piehole Apple Pie

.5 oz. Sweet Vermouth

3 oz. Cider

.75 oz. Lemon Juice

3 dashes of Angostura Bitters

Combine all ingredients in a shaker and pour over ice in a rocks glass.

  • 1-1/2 oz. Wild Turkey® 81 Bourbon
  • 1 tablespoon fig jam
  • 1/4 oz. orange liqueur
  • 1/2 oz. fresh lemon juice

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice. Garnish with an orange peel.

  • 1-1/2 oz. Wild Turkey® 101 Bourbon
  • 1/2 oz. orgeat syrup
  • 1/2 oz. coffee Liqueur
  • 1 oz. heavy cream
  • 1 egg white
  • Splash of soda water

 

Add first 5 ingredients to shaker and shake without ice to emulsify. Then add ice and shake again. Strain into highball glass and top with soda water. Garnish with grated nutmeg.

 

 

 

 

image007Chai, Spice and Everything Nice

Recipe Courtesy of Wild Turkey

  • 1-1/2 oz. Wild Turkey® 81 Bourbon
  • 1/2 oz. cinnamon syrup*
  • 3/4 oz. chai infused sherry*
  • 3/4 oz. fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • Dash of cardamom bitters

Combine all ingredients in shaker with ice. Shake, and strain over ice into rocks glass. Garnish with grated cinnamon and orange slice.

*Chai Infused Sherry – Empty 1 bottle of sherry into a large bowl. Throw in 6 chai tea bags and squeeze to release oils. Steep for 3 hours. Give tea bags one last squeeze before discarding from the infused sherry.

*Cinnamon Syrup – Place equal parts sugar and water, plus crushed up cinnamon sticks (2-3 sticks per cup of sugar), into a pot and bring to a light boil. Reduce to a simmer and let sit for 5 minutes. Remove from heat, cool completely and strain.
